Overview: Sadie White's summer job isn't going to be on the beach life-guarding or working at rental booths like most kids her age. With her single mother's increasing pregnancy and refusal to work, Sadie has to take over her mother's job as a domestic servant for one of the wealthy summer families on a nearby island.
When the family arrives at their summer getaway, Sadie is surprised to learn that the owner of the house is Jax Stone, one of the hottest teen rockers in the world. If Sadie hadn't spent her life raising her mother and taking care of the house she might have been normal enough to be excited about working for a rock star.
Even though Sadie isn't impressed by Jax's fame, he is drawn to her. Everything about Sadie fascinates Jax but he fights his attraction. Relationships never work in his world and as badly as he wants Sadie, he believes she deserves more. By the end of the summer, Jax discovers he can't breathe without Sadie.

Stars: 5
My Review: I've pulled myself together and have restored order to my emotions. A sweet and strong 5 stars is what I rate Breathe. I've been back and forth on whether or not I wanted to read this book and I finally took the plunge. I'm beyond glad I did. I fell head over heels for Jax Stone.
Jax Stone, every teens fantasy and hottest rocker around, was more than anything I could have imagined. When Jax is introduced I couldn't help but smile because the author ensured it was very clear that fame did not go to his head. Jax is grounded, sweet, protective, and considerate. He was so easy to fall in love with. He did everything he could to protect Sadie from the media and from himself.
Sadie was easy to like because she was so mature for her age. Having to be the adult when your only parent acts like a child makes a person mature really fast. It isn't hard to see that Sadie is a good soul. She's smart, honest, hardworking, trustworthy, and strong. She's one of the strongest 17 year old characters I've ever run across in a book. Watching Sadie fall in love with Jax as he fell right back was painfully beautiful and beautifully painful.
I couldn't help but sigh at the struggles Jax and Sadie face since I know them to be very real. I've met celebrities more times than I can count and really found myself comparing Jax Stone to Harry Styles from One Direction from his mannerisms and his lifestyle. I loved the way this story took shape and how Jax wasn't a douche and spoiled rotten celebrity. He was a sweet 19 year old star who didn't let fame change him the way many do and fell in love. Jax made the book for me. I liked Sadie but Jax stole my heart and refused to let go. I simply loved the book for the characters, the emotional ride, and the happy ending.
