Overview: What started out as a deal quickly became a friendship that conquered monsters.
I killed, but I escaped hell.
Emotionless. Disconnected. Cold. A mannequin. It’s what I’d become in order to survive the years held in captivity. I was able to endure the abuse and devastating loss as long as I remained detached.
But he wouldn't let me.
Crisis, the bass guitarist in my brother’s rock band, Tear Asunder. He’s cocky, rude, a total man-whore. But the rock star has far more beneath the surface of his inked skin, and he’s determined to make me laugh again.
He made me a "deal", but really, it was blackmail.
His terms were simple. Until his playful honesty became the building blocks to something unexpected. Something strong enough to pull me from the eye of the storm.
Because even though I escaped years of abuse, it didn’t mean I was free.

My Review: This book was absolutely incredible. I give Shattered by You 5 shattered to be put back together with tenderness and heat stars. There's some people who have seen actual hell on Earth and struggle to continue to function in society even when they so desperately desire normality. Haven is the cracked soul wandering around attempting to be numb to the world in order to survive but Crisis doesn't let her be numb. Crisis forces Haven to feel whether she wants to or not.
Haven and Crisis' story is masterfully told by an incredible author who easily allows the reader to not only get lost in the novel but to also feel as each character does and become emotionally invested. Crisis is the bass guitarist of a famous rock band and is quite the ladies man. He's gorgeous, tattooed, sensual, and witty. He presses all the right buttons to begin to defrost Haven's icy walls until she's literally burning for him. The two dance around one another, pushing and pulling until they can't deny the thing between them that is much more than friendship.
There's some serious drama that pushes the story along but it actually isn't unbelievable given how crazed female fans of sexy celebrities can be. There's moments where you really feel for Haven, where you see directly into her horrific past which has left her scarred in more than one way. There's sexy, potent, and downright delicious moments between Haven and Crisis where you know you're pretending to be Haven to have Crisis' sexy self between your legs The story is well plotted, moves at a pretty good speed, and has fan-fucking-tastic characters. I love the story and I fell in love with both it and its characters.
