Review | Can't Stay Away by Lilly Avalon

Overview Piper Winchester is fresh out of college. With only three weeks until her father remarries and five weeks until her first business venture launches, she's got her hands full. She certainly doesn't need any distractions to get in the way of building the future her father's always wanted for her. But when a familiar boy with bright green eyes walks back into her life, she's thrown for a loop.

Four years ago, Chase MacKenzie left for college without looking back. He didn't mean to disturb the peace then, and he definitely doesn't want to do that now. Once he lays his eyes on Piper again, there's no way he can leave without fixing what went wrong in the past. Although she's more determined than ever to push him away, he still manages to get under her skin. Regardless of what happens between them, there's one thing that will always be standing in their way...

He's about to become her stepbrother.

My Review:  4 it was about time you got together stars. Meet Piper Winchester who doesn't stand up for herself and does as she is told. She grew up in luxury but the biggest problem is she's not really true to herself or her desires in order to appease father dearest. Meet Chase MacKenzie who does what he thinks is best for the one girl he truly cared for and made something of himself through handwork and determination. He grew up with much less than Piper but it made him want to work harder and thrive on his own. When the two are forced to meet again after four long years away from each other, there's no way all those feelings don't come to bite them, but it shouldn't happen because they are about to become step-siblings.

I found I liked Piper and Chase together more than when they were separate entities. Chase brings out good things in Piper like the ability to actually stand up for herself. Piper brings out Chase's protectiveness and caring heart to which he kind of keeps hidden away. Together they are quite the pair, even without the intense sexual pull, and it is quite lovely to see them develop over the pages from struggling to ignore their desire to struggling to be together.

Wait, what? I'm thrown off for a second, then it dawns on me what she's talking about. I jump out of my seat, chasing her down the hall. "Oh, fuck no! I'm not letting you use a fucking vibrator."

She laughs. "Watch me." When she reaches her bedroom door, she smirks back at me before slamming it in my face. "Or you could just listen."

I found myself annoyed with both of the parents because who treats their own flesh and blood in such a way? You could feel the superiority pouring out of Chase's mother and Piper's father to the point I swear I was gagging. Most parents want their children to be successful at whatever makes them happy and for them to be healthy and happy. I ground me teeth quite a bit watching the interactions between the parents and Chase and Piper.
