My Review: So wickedly in love with this book! Who doesn't love sexy vampires, passionate sex, adventure, and the promise of falling in love? Chaos and Moonlight is the first book in the Order of the Nines series which centers mostly around an eight hundred year old vampire, Taris, and a brilliant doctor, Sarah. The premise of this book is that vampires are dying out and can't turn humans as the human body rejects the change, ultimately killing the vessel. Sarah and her partner have made groundbreaking steps forward in their medical research which could help the vampires situation.
Sarah and Taris are attracted to each other instantly. Taris actually admonishes his cock's response to Sarah which made me have a good laugh. Both of them are witty and verbally spar, mostly due to Taris purposely pushing Sarah to lash out because he's struggling to fight his attraction to her. Taris is really impressive with his sense of responsibility, his maturity, his fierce loyalty, his humor, and his cleverness. I found myself liking Taris as soon as he appeared. Sarah is an intelligent, passionate, blunt, and very modern woman. I liked her, quite a lot. Taris and Sarah together made me laugh, pant, sigh, and smile.
My overall star rating is a 4.5 for the impress verbiage, the natural flow of the plot, the awesome characters and their development, and for making me love Taris. This novel weaves a vivid tapestry of fantasy, sex, love, and adventure. I'm looking forward to the next book on the series!
Teaser: "Okay, what to say? Um. 'Hello, I'm a vampire.' Fuck, that's stupid. Eh. 'Hi, my name is Taris, and I saw your interview, and I would like to hire you.' Yeah, explain that one. 'I'm eight hundred years old, and I need you to save a race of people who have been turned into horror movie villains and romance heroes from extinction.'" He chuckled. "Not likely."

My Review: Oh yeah, I'm totally on the Dorothy Shaw fan train thanks to this story and the sexy Ryan Donnelly. They say you don't really know what you need until you've had it, tasted it, and felt it. For Ryan and Maiya this is most certainly so. They are quite different on the outside, Maiya being more of a rocker chick while Ryan's a bit of classic corporate, but it's the chemistry between the two that makes them work. They can match wits, be comfortable teasing one another, and seamlessly fall into one another's lives. Sometimes the greatest leap of faith reaps the greatest reward and that is just what Ryan and Maiya have to figure out.
While this is my first novel by Dorothy Shaw, I had no issue enjoying the novel. Her writing style is liquid, allowing the reader to easily drop into the story and intake it all. Shaw pointedly shows shades of grey with Ryan and Maiya, making them more than one dimensional characters which I loved! Ryan is a single father with a good heart. He is dominant enough to be a wicked dirty talker who takes charge in the bedroom and comfortable enough in his own skin to be a complete goofball. I loved Ryan, really freaking loved him. Maiya is a bit edgier, tattooed, sassy, and sarcastic. She has childhood hangups that still touch her today. The two balance one another out and push each other. The sex between them is explosive, the verbals spars are hilarious, and the chase is as good as the fall.
I'm not a fan of blowing smoke up an author's rear end which could be part of the reason why I was gifted with this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I genuinely enjoyed the story and had a hard time putting it down to return to my job. The stars fall at a solid 5 out of 5 due to the easy way the story takes shape, the growth of the characters as individuals and together as a couple, and for the deliciously sinful sex. I look forward to reading the next book in the series, hoping for Jimmy's story because I love him and his tattooed self!

Teaser: Taking her hand, Ryan led her up the aisle toward the exit. "Do you have any idea how many times I jacked off the past two weeks thinking of you?"
She stopped short, halting his forward motion. "Fucking hell, Ryan!" She put her hand over her mouth and looked around at the other patrons, and then began in a lower tone. "Do you have any idea how hot that is? Jesus, I think I just had a mini orgasm."

My Review: Maxon left me charmed and delighted. This fantasy romance centers around Maxon and Lianna. The attraction between the two is instant, even if neither of them wanted it to be. Through the book they come to trust, rely, and care for one another. The bond between them is built upon all the right kinds of stones.
Maxon, I have a lot to say about Maxon. Maxon is witty, clever, snarky, and loyal. He's one hell of a demon slayer and finds himself losing interest in that aspect of his life. His course changes once he meets Lianna. Lianna is daring, passionate, and gutsy. She does what she believes is best and follows her heart. The two make a striking pair and suit one another.
The story weaves the reader into the novel's world effortlessly, even for someone who has not read the prior books in the series. This shows the talent the author possesses as many fail to be able to draw a reader in when such a complicated world exists. The story will captivate you from the very first page as you are presented with a very snarky and annoyed Prince Maxon. I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review and I can happily say Maxon deserves a perfect 5 star rating.

My Review: Texting Under the Influence is a short and sweet read about it all working out in the end. Jack and Jenna work together at an advertising firm and are actually forbidden to even date. Jenna was drinking to deal with her failed relationship with a guy who couldn't and wouldn't commit to her. Jack receives Jenna's text and decides to act upon his crush since she reached out. The two are good together and all parts fall into place by the end.
It should be noted that Cosmo reads are not meant to be long novels like Since Drew, Black Rainbow, or This Man. This novel served its purpose and was constructed well. Everyone loves a sweet Irish accented man. An easy four stars is what this gets.

My Review: Never More is a steamy, witty, and passionate read that will make you laugh, smile, and sigh. The story focuses on Raven and Amanda while having the other characters play a pretty decent role throughout the story. Amanda is Raven's mate and Raven does everything within his power to ease her into his world and their fate.
I liked both Amanda and Rave, together and apart. Amanda is clever, blunt, sassy, and sweet. She loves fiercely, protects those she deems in need of it, and works hard. Raven is a bit darker, deeming himself a tainted mess, with an inner child that has been clawing to be set free, a witty mouth, and enough confidence for half a dozen men. While Raven is a creative, an artist, Amanda is an event planner. They tease one another, push one another, and are the ultimate compliment of each other, the other half. Amanda gives Raven the light he so desperately seeks and saves him with her devotion and love. In return, Raven gives Amanda the kind of love she never thought she could have and the kind of passion most people never get to experience.
I give this novel a solid 4.5 stars. I laughed , snorted, and giggled many times while reading because of the exchanges between all of the characters, specifically between Raven and Amanda. I found myself panting due to the sexual tension at other times. The characters all fed off of one another, the story progressed easily, and there was a sweet love paired with a happy ending. There isn't much more you could really ask from this book and that is why my rating is damn near perfect.
A favorite moment from the book: "He lifted his gaze from her hand and allowed the green of his lineage seep into his eyes. 'That would be you, my sweet.'
She stared at him, stunned. 'Well. Fuck me sideways.'
'Soon, my sweet.' He kissed her fingers. 'Soon.'"

My Review: Ah, I do love a good historical romance novel and that is exactly what A Highland Knight to Remember gave to me. The story line is intriguing, not a very typical story, and the characters are easy to love. The writing allows the reader to easily fall into the spirit of the times. I loved this read and it reminds me why I like to read historical romance!
Gyllis and Sean have grown up together and Sean is her overbearing brother's best friend. Sean has always had a thing for Gyllis but was forced to bottle it due to his best friend's warnings and feelings. At the Beltane Festival, Gyllis makes it quite obvious she desires Sean and will do what she has to do to have him. The two have their own tragedies to work through with Sean's father passing away and Gyllis having becoming mostly paralyzed. The thing they must learn is that love is the greatest gift of all and that they are stronger together than they ever were apart.
I loved Sean and Gyllis! Gyllis is a spirited woman, especially for the time she is in. She has heart, brains, and beauty. Sean is a warrior, strong, passionate, and true. He recognizes Gyllis as an equal in his heart, reveling in her clever brain and passionate nature. The two are passionate creatures, pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable in the name of love and lust.

My Review: This is a short and steamy read that leaves you with a cliffhanger. Lyla is sweet and a planner. Jaxon is hot, smart, and serious. We meet them both at their college just before move out day. There is a lack of growth but that's to be expected since it is a shorter serial piece. They share a night of passion and you're left wanting to know what happens when the cliffhanger appears.

My Review: Sometimes things fall apart so that the correct things can fall into place. Katherine walks away from what could be looked at as the perfect life when reality comes crashing down upon her that the life she has been living has been a lie. She ends up in Boot Creek to find herself and allow her divorce to proceed. Derek is living back in Boot Creek after leaving his incredible job at Duke University's hospital for his own reason, I liked Katherine and Derek, both apart and together.

Katherine needed to find herself since she let her ex husband define her. With Derek, Katherine didn't have to be someone she wasn't and the experience is liberating. Derek was trying to move on with his life but didn't expect to feel such a connection to Katherine. She makes him want to try again, feel again, and live life fully. The two make each other comfortable and happy and I loved that.

My Review: I couldn't put it down once I began! Jillian and Griffin are so naturally in love with one another and I loved that! The two have grown up together with Griffin as her best friend and protector. The path to becoming a couple is less than easy when Jillian doesn't want to lose Griffin by pushing something other than friendship and Griffin trying to sort out how to convey his feelings appropriately to Jillian.
I loved watching Jillian begin to shape herself and grow. She made friends while away at college while processing her growing need for Griffin. I adored Griffin's character and how well he was suited for Jillian. The two fit together like two pieces of a heart puzzle. The sizzle between them is more than lust which makes the tumble into sex all the more sweet. If you are a sucker for childhood friends turning to lovers and protective make characters, this is so your kind of read.

My Review: Tracy Wolff is an exceptionally gifted writer and I began reading her novels when the first Ethan Frost novel came out in January of 2014. She fleshes out her characters so well and the plot is always well constructed. I am a bit biased on loving this novel since I have loved Ethan Frost since the beginning.
It feels so good to see Ethan Frost back in action. I've been waiting for this book for what feels like years! Can I just say that Ethan and Chloe are dynamite together? This book takes you on a wild ride with twists and turns you never see coming. The passion, the love, the torment, all of it rolls together to become the third Ethan Frost novel.
Epic page turner is what I dub Exposed. Home run, slam dunk, goal, touch down! First off, they get MARRIED! YES! Ethan and Chloe Frost, quite a nice ring to it in my opinion. If you've read Play Me Wild you'll remember Sebastian. We get quite a bit of Sebastian in this novel and I was so happy. I adore Sebastian. Granted, he doesn't top Ethan Frost, but he's pretty awesome. I am anxiously awaiting the next novel, Flawed.

My Review: I was given this novel before publication date in exchange for an honest review. I've never read anything by Elizabeth Moss but this book has definitely pushed me to become a loyal reader. Moss is on the same writing level as the golden stars, Sylvia Day and Jodi Ellen Malpas, as far as I'm concerned. The writing is vivid, potent, and fluid. There was never a point in the book where I became bored. The plot is well crafted, the characters develop before your eyes while lost in the story, and the love that grows is sweet. Of course, the sex is quite nice. Quite nice is putting it mildly, Wolf and Eloise burn up the Tudor era sheets! Ah, yes, I must explain that this is a historical romance. It is one of my weaknesses!

My Review: LOVE! This book sucked me right in and didn't let me go until the last word to alert me to a cliffhanger. I've never read C. L. Parker's writing before this novel and I'm in love with both the writing and Shaw. The writing is vivid and compelling, the characters complicated and easy to like, and the story line is great.
Cassidy and Shaw work for the same sports firm and are pitted against one another to get a new client and the spot of partner. The two come from different upbringings and have always been in competition with one another. They say they can't stand one another, but remember there's a fine line between love and hate. The two begin an affair without meaning to while vying for the same client. Things come to a head while they are in Detroit and we get a look into Shaw's personal life just a bit.
Through twists and turns we begin to see the two need one another and the hate they thought was there has been replaced with other feelings. Shaw has had a rough life and the more you learn about him the more you can understand him. Cassidy is witty and full of confidence. Shaw is crude, charming, and overly confident. The two make for an interesting while redeeming couple. I can't wait for the next book in this series! I was given this book on exchange for an honest review and hope to get the second one when it's ready.

My Review: Cameron and Saint will drive you mad! Tina Leonard drags you to a small town called Hell in Texas, where there's heat, sexual tension, and a bit of drama. Cameron wants Saint. She wants him for his rock hard body and bull riding skills. Saint wants Cameron for her body and the way she gets in his head and stays there.
Cameron is independent, strong willed, and passionate. Saint is a protector, a former SEAL, and a lover. The two push one another to become better people, realize and accept love, and grow. They have a whole lot of passion. Who wouldn't want an ex Seal cowboy? There's some moments where you aren't sure a happy ending is to come and some moments when you wish you were under Saint. The writing is potent, ensuring you stay for the entire ride, and the characters are really well fleshed out. The story is a fun read with some hotter than Hell moments.

My Review: What a hot, sexy, and exhilarating ride Sin was! Joshua and Macey compliment one another and have a deep rooted need for each other. I loved seeing from both of their views. Macey has a ton of issues stemming from her childhood. Joshua has his own that stem from his cheating ex-fiancé.
Macey comes back from Europe to a new boss and a cheating boyfriend she makes an ex. She shouldn't be and doesn't want to be attracted to her new boss. Joshua just makes it so hard to resist him, especially when he shows he cares about her. Joshua doesn't expect Macey to have the impact she does on him and can't help but pursue her. The story weaves through exes that can't let go, jealousy, falling in love, and finding the person that is right for you. The writing allows for the reader to easily get lost in the words on the page. The characters are charming and quite modern. The story line is engaging and wraps up with a happy ending.

My Review: J. J. McAvoy spins a wickedly delicious and addictive tale! Levi and Thea are the perfect match for one another. Anyone who says lawyers are boring requires a crash course in Levi Black. Thea has secrets that forced her to Harvard Law School and into Levi Black's classroom. Levi Black is a shark in the courtroom, the best criminal defense lawyer in Massachusetts, and one hard ass of a law professor. The two had a week of passion that was to be the last they saw of one another but Fate can be a cruel thing. Thea is in Levi's class and they are far from done with one another.
The writing is sexy, wild, potent, and vivid. I swear I could feel Levi deep within me even though he was clearly penetrating Thea. The characters are well thought out, develop and grow over the course of the novel, and the plot line is well structured. There's never a dull moment during the story and that is probably what make it such an awesome read. I have to admit that the hot sex, verbal sparring between Levi and Thea, and Levi's personality are also key contributors towards making Black Rainbow a phenomenal read.

My Review: Melanie Scott blends two of my loves, romance and baseball, in this novel. Her writing style reminds me a bit of J. Kenner and I love J. Kenner! There's mystery, love, lust, and personal growth weaved into the story's plot which makes it a great read and not all about sex. Mal and Raina have an instant attraction and try their best to fight it. We all know what happens when you try to deny something, the craving for it becomes almost unbearable until satisfied. Raina is fun, witty, sarcastic, sassy, and independent. Mal is the 'I-will-save-the-world' type which makes him endearing. The two better one another and work well together. Between the characters, the story line, and the writing, this novel gets a perfect 5 star rating from me.

My Review: You have to open your eyes to take in what you are overlooking. Girl Spoken For is a refreshing Young Adult read. I wasn't sure I was going to like it but the premise called to me and I ended up liking it quite a bit. The writing was pretty solid, the characters were interesting and well crafted, and the story line its was laid out well so Girl Spoken For gets a comfortable 4 star rating from me.
The story is told from Tatum's point of view and is the first book in the series. Tatum is a sophomore in high school that is going through a rough time with adjusting to her grandmother's death and her mother's constant harping on how being different is bad. A moment happens that forces Tatum to realize she can still live and so begins to indulge in being with her friends and even begins dating the star of the football team. Tatum is sweet, smart, forgiving, passionate, and usually follows the beat of her own drum.
During the story all the roads in Tatum's life lead her back to Zach, the quiet Italian boy she's known for a few years. Zach is a Mob grandson, quiet, caring, loyal, and attractive. Zach is always Tatum's savior even when she is with her jock boyfriend. He is a constant sideline that puts himself front and center because he's tired of waiting for her.
The book ends with a sweet cliffhanger and there's a teaser from the next book to bring about your curiosity. It seems the next book will alternate between both Zach and Tatum's points of view! The good part is the cliffhanger is in the middle of a massively important scene so you don't become frustrated and I'm thankful for that.

My Review: Sometimes love finds you when you least expect it to and gives you a home in the process. At the Stars earned a solid four star rating with its painfully beautiful characters, sweetly developed story line, and heartfelt happy ending. From the very beginning the reader is introduced to both Cassie and Jake. Their meeting is unusual but sparks the following flow of movements and decisions.
Cassie and Jake are both lonely shells of a person when they meet. Cassie is struggling to deal with all that has happened to her. She's a bit lost with a decent head on her shoulders, a good heart, and the need for someone to understand her. She and Jake are kindred spirits which might be part of the pull besides the physical attraction. Jake holds heavy burdens from his past that shape the person he is when he meets Cassie. He's struggling to tune out the bad through sexual release with a married woman, working, and living on his own.
I loved the dynamic between Jake and Cassie. The novel flips between both of their perspectives and allows the reader to get inside their heads. I love the slow progression to trust to caring to loving. What they created was fragile yet powerful. The story tugs at you, sucking you in until you read the very last word. The read is easy and enjoyable, I certainly liked it! It should be noted that I was given this in exchange for an honest review.

19. The Reaper's Daughter by K. M. Randall
Recommend: Highly
Purchase Link: Amazon or Barnes and Noble
Publication Date: May 9, 2015Purchase Link: Amazon or Barnes and Noble
My Review: A deliciously addictive page turner is what I've found in K. M. Randall's The Reaper's Daughter. Blake is the Grim Reaper's daughter and had no idea she was half deity until her 18th birthday when a guy appears to be stalking her. We learn the stalker is named Rishi and is another half deity who was raised by Blake's mother. The two struggle to deal with one another because Blake doesn't feel like she can trust Rishi, but it doesn't stop her from becoming attracted to him.
The story weaves Greek mythology with a different view on deities, death, and the structure of death. There's adventure, sadness, humor, flirtation, and confusion. Randall throws curveballs and change ups to keep the reader engaged. This is the first novel in the series so it ends with a cliffhanger. My overall rating for content, characters, and writing is a solid 5 stars.

19. How to Catch a Rock Star by Gabrielle Aquilina
Recommend: Moderately High
Purchase Link: Amazon or Barnes and Noble
Publication Date: May 13, 2015Purchase Link: Amazon or Barnes and Noble
My Review: An intricate page turner that constantly drops hints that there's trouble in paradise before the massive blow up occurs. Jed and Lillie have an instant pull to one another and quickly fall into a torrid love affair. When you fall fast, you also break fast. Jed harbors a secret that can shred him and Lillie even while they are crazy about one another.
I liked Lillie for her personality and her love of music. While she has a past that made her wary of trusting men, she still takes a chance on Jed. Jed may be an up and coming lead rock star singer but he doesn't participate in the groupie mania. He has a good heart and tries to give Lillie a chance at becoming a singer. There's moments of passion, of happiness, of jealousy, of torment, and ultimately of redemption. Who doesn't love when love wins out in the end?

My Review: Passion? Check. Mystery? Check. Hot alpha male? Double check. Mind fucking cliffhanger? Triple check. Lisa Renee Jones starts the book with a bang, keeps shooting throughout the story, and drops a bomb in the last few pages. The story keeps you on your toes from the very beginning. The writing is clever, powerful, and fluid.
Amy is running from New York City to Denver, but she's not alone from the moment she gets on the flight. Liam is a top architect, a billionaire, and a gorgeous man. Once he sets his sights on Amy, she has no choice but to allow him into her life. Throughout the novel the reader is weaved in and out of Amy's life, mind, and heart. Liam seems like a knight in shining armor, but what we see isn't always the truth. This novel ends on a shocking unveiling about Liam and what he actually wants from Amy. The cliffhangers leaves you on the edge with dozens of questions and the need for the next book.

My Review: Quite honestly in love with Love on the Ledge. I couldn't help but love Sky and Hayden. The writing is perfection, allowing you to easily weave into the tapestry that is Sky's life, and the characters are pretty well displayed and placed. Sky suffers from the first generation syndrome where you want to please your parents and be the good child. Sky was that child, became a nurse and was engaged to a financially stable man, until she finds her ex-fiance cheating and walks away from everything. Hayden is a blue collared worker, a roofer and carpenter, who has been burned by love similar to Sky.
The two meet in an interesting way, he falls through the roof while working on it, and instantly there's sparks between the two. Hayden is charming, good looking, and sweet which makes it hard for Sky to resist. The two make each other better people. Hayden makes Sky want things for herself instead of listening to everyone else and Sky makes Hayden want to think about the future.

My Review: Short, sassy, and a bit sexy. This is a novella, not a novel, so if you're looking for character development and plot development, there's very little here. Having said all of that, Savannah Rylan created an interesting premise and executed it well for how short the story is. I liked how quickly the lust interests found one another and how they ended up meeting again unexpectedly. All in all, the read was interesting so it earned a solid 3.5 stars from me. I look forward to a more lengthy piece by Rylan.

My Review: I'm actually so upset because this is the first book in the series and there is no warning until you finish the book. The writing and story-line are both good, interesting and well thought out. I like Island, ended up laughing at her a lot, and I like March. There's action, mystery, and hints of romance which keeps everyone on their toes. The way the book ended left me quite frustrated because I didn't expect this to be a serial and there's so much that is left for the next book. All in all, the read was captivating and kept me wanting to turn the page.
24. Let It Ride by Vivian Arend

My Review: A solid 4 riding off into the sunset stars for Vivian Arend's Let It Ride. They say sometimes there's someone perfect for you at the specific moment in time and someone who is perfect for you for all time. I happen to agree with that statement and this is reflected in Let It Ride. Maggie and Cameron are perfect for each other for the years they are together but Fate is well aware that Maggie is ultimately best with Clay Thompson and ensures it happens.
Maggie and Clay have known each other for years but couldn't get it together in time so Maggie ended up with Cameron. From the bits the reader is allowed to see of Cameron, he's a good guy. It isn't hard to like him but the reader is also shown Clay. He's a fantastic guy and has loved Maggie for years. When Cameron is stripped from Maggie's life it is Clay who is her saving grace.
Maggie is sweet, caring, witty, fun loving, fragile, and resilient. She actually tackles her feelings for Clay quite well considering all that she's been through and the possible consequences of getting involved. Clay is the protector, the one always in control and tending to the needs of others. He can't help it considering his own past and being the oldest sibling. He cares for Maggie, shields her, and ultimately brings her back to the world of the living.
This story is sweet and is a good reminder that life is too short to spend it alone and hurting. It also points out how important it is that things feel right to you regardless of what others might think. Clay is so easily to like and I like him quite a bit. Maggie is easy to like, respect, and relate to. The writing ensures the reader can understand each character well and allows for both plot and character development over the course of the story.

25. Stripped Bear by Kate Baxter

My Review: Bearing a solid 4 stars for Kate Baxter's Stripped Bear. Having read The Last True Vampire by her I already knew she wrote to my taste. This story held elements of The Last Vampire's world and I loved it. Baxter weaves a different path in her paranormal world with Caden as he is a bear shifter.
Caden has been away from Leah for 16 long years. He's been part of a society his grandmother is less than pleased with but returns home at her call. As it turns, she's a scheming woman and also has Leah come for a visit. As soon as the two touch Caden is Leah's. She claimed him and he feels it vibrate through his entire body.
Of course, that would make the story too easy if they just got together. Leah still harbors anger and resentment against Caden for leaving her 16 years ago. She's stubborn, fiery, and passionate. I liked Leah and found myself siding with her just a bit. Caden is demanding, insistent. and protective. He takes what is his without a second thought, even if it is a another person.
This was a shorter read but I loved it just the same. I'm going to dig up more of Kate Baxter's books because I love the way she writes. I was left completely satisfied because Baxter tied up the lose ends enough to end the novella while hinting at The Last True Vampire.
